Dreamfall stumbles

Almost two and a half years ago to the day, Norway-based publisher-developer Funcom announced it was working on a sequel to its acclaimed PC adventure game The Longest Journey.oday word arrived that the long-in-development sequel will be a little longer in development. Previously expected to have a fourth-quarter release, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey now has an on-shelf date of spring 2006. When it does finally come out, Dreamfall will be released simultaneously for the Xbox and PC.

Funcom said the delay "ensures the highest possible quality while making sure the game reaches the market in a more favorable time slot."

"Quality is what our company is all about and is always the core focus while we develop games," said Trond Arne Aas, CEO of Funcom. "We believe that the new release window for Dreamfall will allow us to deliver a game for the ages, as opposed to a contemporary classic. At the same time, we see that the market potential for Dreamfall is greater after the busy holiday period. The new release window will mean that the title receives the attention it deserves."

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

If you love famous world of Might and Magic so much as i, you will surely wait for any information about currently prepared game Dark Messiah of MaM. It will be first fps made in that world. But not pure fps, where you will run around killing everything that moves. It will contain parts of rpg system (character classes, levels) and about 40 different weapons to kill enemies. In game will be multiplayer, which can be played together with up to 32 persons containing deathmatch as much as playing cooperatively normal game story. Game is currenty being developed by Arkane Studios (they made Arx Fatalis) and should be complete next year. Just hope it will be good.

t's been 10 years since developer Cyan Worlds' adventure series Myst first captured gamers' interests by dropping them into a new world with little to no guidance and then letting them figure it out from there.

Keeping true to the series' tradition of sink-or-swim immersion into the game experience, publisher Ubisoft has released a 276MB demo of Myst V: End of Ages with no official description

The final installment in the popular series, Myst V: End of Ages is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $49.99 when it's released in September. A version of the game--packed with a strategy guide, an individually numbered lithograph, the game soundtrack CD, and a bonus DVD with a series retrospective produced by Turner Broadcasting--will also be available.

About continue

But its still cool benefit for authors, just count: Sell 1 milion copies of game for $10. Every of them cost you $2, (you are sending it to distant countries, margin of resellers takes something, just say every copy cost you $3) What it makes as result? $7 000 000 of gain, which you will lost when you dont distribute game into poor countries. And that is still not all, after year or so, you can release that same game as Collectors edition or add to it some addons (made probably by 2-3 people in month..) And earn $$ again. Pretty cool? Yes, i want to be game maker in next life.

Old games

Hi, for today i prepared some words about old games. You all know them, you all played them. I am talking about really old games like warcraft, dune, doom. You know what i am thinking? Those games were in their time breakthrough, they allways had best graphics ever seen, demanded powerfull machines to play, and where are now? Games are just growing old much faster than huimans. Some of them are even now lucky, because of some maniacks who are still playing them. Some are now clasified as abandonware, which means that you can download them freely from net, and play them legally. And some had been forgotten. Who of today young people have even heard of games like commander keen (really good ega graphics) or very known serie dizzi? Nobody, that is the faith od all old things.

About games

Hia, i got some idea about what to talk today. How it is possible that games distributor is selling one game for so different prices sround the world? How it is possible that in one country same game cost $50, and in other $20 or $10? Is it because of that its manufacturing and distribution cost about $1, (including cd press, manual, box, somebody who packs it into box, driver who takes it into shop..) Than they adds $2-3 for advertising, (for bigger games they dont need, because of enough fanatics who know when game will be released, they do advertising for them for free.) (Remember GTA: San Andreas? than you know what i am talking about.) and all other $ are profit. Difference between prices in USA and other countries is simple way how to get more money from game. It works, that in US is game released first. There is much of rich boys (or poor, but what they have to do when they wants to play it?) who usually buy it day or two after rleasing, and after week or so, most of expenses with developing game are paid. Than is time for all around world cheaper versions for nations who cant bled dry as Americans. For countries where if game cost $50 or even $30 nobody will buy it.

Stargate-SG1: The Alliance cancelled!

JoWooD oficially announced cancelling of Stargate-SG1: The Alliance. It is because of Australian team Perception wsa (by JoWooD) only eating money, and dont working on really good game. JoWooD announced that they fear that they can damage good name of SG1 by releasing inadequate game, and so they are taking all results from Perception to be checked if it make sense to give game to another team to finish. But even if it will, Stargate wont be released in months.
